QUANTUM CAT (8) loomed to win fresh over 2040m at Moonee Valley but just peaked late behind two fit, in form horses. This doesn't look any harder and with that run under the belt he should take plenty of beating. CONVENER (3) improved sharply third up at this track over 1800m to win at $26. Finds a similar race here and can go on with it. FLAMIN' ROMANS (14) is a progressive type who won well enough in Adelaide last start. The run prior ties in with Quantum Cat. RISE TO IT (13) started favourite in the race won by Convener last time and was okay. Needs another win but must have some claims. WHISKY ON THE HILL (15) also comes through the Convener race with a chance.
